Tomorrow, 12/31/12, Kayla will be the Stage Manager at The Moroccan for First Night, a Tacoma event that is co-produced by The Warehouse and First Night Tacoma Pierce County. First Night Tacoma-Pierce County is a family-friendly, arts-centered, alcohol free celebration of New Year’s Eve that takes place throughout the downtown Tacoma theater district. A First Night button costing approximately $10(before 12/31, $14 after) is all it takes to gain admission to the Children’s Museum of Tacoma and Museum of Glass during the daylight hours. Children under the age of 10 are admitted free of charge. The main event kicks off with the Last Mile fun run at 6pm and is followed by a participatory parade that includes marching bands, costumes, masks and giant puppets. As the parade ends music, dance, laughter fire and magic light up 20 different stages and spaces until midnight. The outdoor events are free to all festival goers.

Wow! Long time, no update. Well, we will not keep you waiting any longer; we come bearing extremely good news.

As of today, Grace Youn has been added to the Cadence Music Management roster. Grace is a 21 year old violinist from Tacoma, WA. She began violin studies at the age of 7 and started piano shortly after. As a soloist, she has performed with the University of Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and String Orchestra, and the Tacoma Youth Symphony. She has served as concertmaster of the University of Puget Sound Symphony and also is a member of the Tacoma Symphony Orchestra. She has attended summer festivals, including The International Festival Institute at Round Top, Brevard Music Center, Innsbrook Institute and Music Festival, Northwestern Summer Violin Institute, and the Icicle Creek International Chamber Music Festival. Most recently, she was featured in Katy Perry’s documentary, Katy Perry 3D: Part of Me. Combining classical traditions and techniques with energy and creativity, Grace seeks to be a “genre-proof” musician, hoping to bring a high level of musical artistry and excellence to all music she plays.

Hello everyone. Got a couple of updates for you! Wes Gonzalez is very busy, finishing writing for his EP. Every now and then we have received a demo and we can’t wait to see what else he comes up with. Due to being so focused on writing, there will be no shows scheduled for Wes until further notice. We can’t say much about the material but we promise, the wait will be worth it! Brittany Glabe has also been working on writing and recording her EP. Aside from music, Brittany now has three other jobs and time to write, record, and play have been sparse but we are hoping to book some more dates this summer and release her EP by next winter. Until then, we will hopefully be able to sneak in some video updates and maybe even record a cover or two. As the first month of the New Year is coming to a close, we have to say, 2011 is awesome so far! Both Wes and Brittany are writing new material and they’re working on a secret collaboration/cover together. As an insider, I can tell you it’s something you definitely would not expect and it sounds amazing! We can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Aside from writing, both Wes and Brittany are gearing up for some local shows taking place in February. Please view our “Events” page for more information on those. Cadence Music Management was recently approached by an extremely well-known casting director, inquiring about whether or not our artists would be interested in auditioning for a television program about singing. We graciously declined the offer, as it was not the direction neither Wes nor Brittany were interested in going towards. However, we were extremely flattered by the opportunity and we continue to be amazed by the amount of interest Cadence is generating worldwide. Thank you for spreading the word, supporting Cadence Music Management, and supporting our artists. We hope 2011 will continue to be a great year for everyone!

Brittany Glabe played an impromptu open mic at Java Fusion in Tacoma, WA and was received extremely well by the audience. We plan on doing a lot of shows with Java Fusion in the future! Kayla recently was asked to be part of a interview/photography project about young entrepreneurs/CEO’s for a student at Evergreen Community College.
